Cressto S-logger is a mobile phone app for Android that, together with the S-Series smart pressure sensors, offers variability in measuring differential pressure, relative overpressure and vacuum and atmospheric pressure.
A distinct advantage of this combination is the fact that the S-Series sensors can be powered by 5V DC, hence also from USB.
Therefore, a sensor connected via USB-C or microUSB not only measures, i.e.
displays the measured value and stores it in the phones memory, but is also powered by it.
This provides the user with considerable comfort and flexibility, because a mobile phone, unlike a data logger, is in the pocket of virtually everyone.
As for the sensor consumption, there is no need to worry, without the display it is 5mA and with the display with the backlight on it is about 30mA.
The display is an optional accessory on all S-series sensors.
The same goes for USB communication, it is optional but not essential.
If USB S-Series transmitters and their typical applications: - SH – differential pressure trnasmitter for aggressive media such as water, seawater, oils, etc.
A typical application is differential/loss measurement on a filter.
- SP – differential pressure transmitter for non-aggressive media, especially air.
A typical application is the measurement of pressure losses on fans, air handlers in the order of hundreds to thousands of Pascals.
Or also atmospheric pressure measurement.- SR – Relative overpressure/underpressure sensor for aggressive media up to 30bar.
Typical applications are e.g.
pressure measurement in heating systems.- SV – differential pressure transmitter for very low pressures in the order of Pascal units.
Typical applications are clean rooms, e.g.
in pharmaceuticals, where pressure gradients between rooms are involved.
All of the above sensors can be connected to a mobile phone using the new CRESSTO S-logger app.
Then just display the measured values, both numerically and in a graph, or save their output to the phones memory in the widely used *.csv format.
This can then be shared via email or other communication channels (bluetooth, whatapp, USB, sharing, etc.).
The control of the application is very intuitive.
After switching on, a flashing icon appears - connect the sensor to USB.
Its correct connection is indicated by an LED in the upper right corner of the screen, plus a display of the sensor type and its current firmware.
Instead of the USB icon, the measured data is immediately displayed.
The second display option is an online graph.
To start uploading data, press the REC icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
When it is finished, by pressing the STOP square icon again, the recording stops and the file with the measured data appears in the measurement list.
The measurement list icon ikona-měření is again located in the lower left corner.
Before starting each measurement it is a good idea to zero the sensor, the icon ikona-nulování is designed for this purpose.
Note that the button also serves as a tare button, i.e.
